This accessibility statement applies to Grow Nairn’s website: https://grownairn.wixsite.com/grownairn

This website is run by Grow Nairn. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings

  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen

  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software

  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

We at Grow Nairn are working to make our site accessible to people with disabilities.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.2 guidelines and have made the site accessible to the level of AA. This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, we have also:

  • Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues

  • Set the content order of the site’s pages

  • Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages

  • Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast

  • Reduced the use of motion on the site

  • Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text

  • live video streams do not have captions

  • you cannot skip to the main content when using a screen reader

Compliance status

The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

b) This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Some images do not have text alternatives. This means that people using screen readers may not have access to information conveyed by those images. This does not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content).

We plan to add appropriate text alternatives to relevant images and ensure that decorative images are identified appropriately.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Some images on the website do not currently have appropriate alternative text. This means that people using screen readers may not be able to access information conveyed by those images.

This does not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content).

We are working to add appropriate alternative text to relevant images and to identify decorative images appropriately.

Disproportionate burden

We are not claiming that any accessibility issues are a disproportionate burden.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Live video - We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
